Looking For Recipes........

It's a website, worth visiting, and if your looking for you holiday recipes, just mosey on over to this place and look around. Your taste buds will start to tingling and you'll want to try some of these delicious looking recipes. I would like to visit it for more varieties of food selections, especially for meat and veggies. The FoodConnect is a real nice blog, with many different recipes, including pasta, desserts, salads, casseroles, and great soups. I got all caught up in the special sauces they offered for meats and pasta's. It's truly a nice tasty place to get outstanding recipes, and ideas on cooking. One of my favorite lists was the Crock Pot to the Rescue. It is my style of cooking since I became single and don't want to spend time cooking for one person. The crock pot recipes and convenient and economical for a single person, and you can always find there is plenty leftovers, for later. To keep from getting tired of the same leftovers, sometimes it's necessary to freeze a certain amount and go back to it in a week or so.
What's even better is their suggestions for the right wine, to serve with your meal and how you should use the wines or sherry's to enhance your cooking. I also noticed that they have listed recipes for certain Saints, which is a nice additive to this website. It gives it a certain style and history all it's own.

Moving..........

I've got help, thanks to the oldest daughter and her boyfriend............it's easy to get them to do something for you.........all you have to do is dangle money in front of their faces..........they are ready to go. I feel bad that it's this way with them, but they aren't making things happen for them and only want a quick fix....to get cig's, beer and some car gas to run and do another fast job. She keeps hanging with this guy, and I don't know why..........but..........he's been part of the family for several years.........

Tiles For The Home or Office......

How many times have you gone to visit someone and noticed the kitchen or bathroom tiled cabinets? I believe that they are very clean looking and much easier to keep than cabinet tops. It's nice to find a good discount on household furnishings, but when you can get tiles for 40% off plus a 10% off of the discounts, that makes a 50% deal. How nice is that, to get a good deal and a great discount on your orders?

Just Too Lazy.....

I'm real smart, with it comes to doing idiot things. This time is no exception to the rule. I thought I needed to loose some weight so, I found some old diet pills, that I'd had around sometime. Now, when I say some time.......I'm talking 2 or 3 years......maybe more. Stupid me, took one and felt that something wasn't going on right on the insides of me. It was just mild and nothing major, so I took a PM pill before I went to bed that evening to maybe get some needed work going on this fat. Well, 2 days later and my system is still torn up. I've been up most of the night sitting on the porcelain god, begging for forgiveness. I'm ready for this to be over and I'm not even looking at those pills again. They must have been real strong.

Move To Change

It's time to make a move that will change my life, and re-route others lives. It may cause a few problems, but none that won't heal with time. I'm sure there will be some hurt feelings as well, since children and other family members will be involved in my decision. It really must be done to ease the turmoil I am facing. I know that once things are different, the times will also be easier.

Vivid Dreams

Have you ever known of someone who has "vivid dreams"? These dreams are so paramount that the person actually talks in their sleep and can really get into the situation at hand. My daughter is one of these people. Back when she was a child she would sleep walk. I'm not sure if this is a portion of those times, but it's certain that she's having strong pressurized dreams, because of the stress she's been dealing with on a regular basis. I worry for her, that these dreams will cause her health to be affected. Many times since she moved in with me, she has woke me up, yelling or talking loud about various things. It's very unnerving, to hear her doing this.

Business Insurance......

Should a catastrophic loss occur and the business does not have an adequate protection, all investments of time, moneys and hard work can go down to drain. That's why a company needs good business insurance to protect themselves against such losses. I've worked at a high risk insurance company and watched OSHA agents check the companies for possible future problem areas. It's best to be covered with the adequate amount it takes to be protected in case of such event.

The government launched a mass vaccination programme to prevent the further spread of swine flu Wednesday, with officials urging healthcare workers and at-risk patients to be first in line.

Dance Shoes..........

I have a grand daughter to takes ballet, and am sure she has been fitted with the best money can buy. Her mother encourages her to get involved in many different activities, and makes the effort to back her up in everything she does.
While at the "State Fair of Texas", I visited one of the exposition buildings, where I noticed a group of tap dancers doing one of their routines, for a vast audience. Their ladies were my age, and this gave me incentive to possibly get involved in something to take me out of this house. If I get into a dance club, I will need good Dance Shoes to fit the occasion. I noticed they had shoes on that had been used quite often. I suppose it's time for them to invest in a new pair. They could go to this online store for shoes, footies, and outfits at great price's.

Holidays.......

Here they come, in all their grand splendor...."The Holiday's"! Ready or not, it's time to get out the family recipes, and head on down to the local super market for those festive food supplies. We have a small amount of time to prepare, with Halloween being first.........but then the holiday festivities break loose and remain through the 1st of the New Year....... What a time it will be, with all the extra activities, cooking, eating, going to parades and such. I'm not ready and probably will have to mull through it all, trying to hide out in the backgrounds. My spirit is not all that high right now, I need some pep.......something to get me going!

So Cute

Thoughts For Today.........

Aging is a life-spanning process of growth and development from birth to death. Old age is an integral part of the whole, bringing fulfillment and self-actualization. I regard aging as a triumph, a result of strength and survivorship.
Margaret Kuhn

People work better, feel better, and are more amiable and happier if they experience beautiful shapes and colors in the objects with which they surround themselves at home, however humble it may be.

Looking For Someone?

As we get older we wonder how people from our past are doing and how well they've fared in life's journey's. We even wonder if they are still alive, since many our age have already passed on. I'm sure there are many of you who have wanted to look up an old friend, boyfriend, or maybe search for a long lost ex-husband. I had one in particular that I really was interested in finding information about. So, about 4 years ago, I made several searches for lost friends, ex-husbands and a lost boyfriend, from back in the 60's. Some of the website's would totally block entrance to the information, telling me that it was personal, sensitive or classified, which means it was protected by the government. It was a horrendous time of searching and trying to get past all the different website's and advertisements that would pop up. Many website's would stop me and make me register. Then when I had found some information on the actual person, they wanted a horrible fee, to process the information about the person.

I went to this website and it has the amenities that I've found on other website's. You also have to register, to find certain information about your search. They say that at MyLife you can find anyone all in this one spot. Since I don't like to register at all these different site's, because of spam being sent later, I had to consider this further. If you've had a buddy who you served with in one of the wars, and would like to find them, here also is your chance. Check out this website for more information on how to go about your search.

Last Day of Fair

If you are from the State of Texas, then you know about our "State Fair" that happens each year. It runs for 2 weeks and yesterday was the last day. It was packed full of people, and I was surprised, since it was the last day. Actually, I believe they stayed away all week because there was so much rain, and this was such a gorgeous day. I had a fairly nice time, and was busy walking more than I'm accustomed to. So, today I am sore and had to take a couple of advils this morning when I got up. Maybe someone will talk me out of going to that thing anymore, unless I'm in better shape.

Still Gone

Well, there's nothing new to report, on the home front except the ongoing separation of me and my spouse. He acts as if I'm not around when we run into each other. So, I just let him be and don't bother him. He's got to stand on his own 2 feet now that I'm not driving him everywhere, the way I did when he was here. He is getting much needed exercise riding the bus and walking from bus stop to places he needs to go. Heck I need to exercise, since I picked up about 30 to 40 pounds of blubber, while we were together.
I miss him real bad, but I have to pick up the pieces of what's left of me and go on with my life. It's been kind of hard but what do I expect, going around where I know he'll be. I dread the day, when he shows up with someone else and I have to eat my heart out. I know it will happen, because he doesn't like to be alone and he will eventually find someone to be with. At the present I'm not interested in being with anyone, since I'm so depressed about our situation. I'll make it somehow, but right now I'm just maintaining day to day.

So Nice.......

This morning is a very beautiful day with all the sunshine and crisp breezes. It's a typical fall morning, that wakes you up with a great wonderful feeling that things are going to be alright, no matter what. I truly believe, that it will and we must take our time daily to enjoy the things which are good. I'm hoping for the good rain in a few days, that the weathermen predicted last night, and will welcome it on to my yard.

Baby Formula........

As being the mother of 5 children, I believe this qualifies me to give a good report on how and why certain formula's are considered for babies. It's been a few year's since my children were babies, but they were fed with what I considered to be the best formula, on the market at that time. There were several different brands and it seemed endless on all the different ingredients they boasted. Seeing this was really the effort of those companies to sell their products, it made me skeptical about their benefits. Once I started reading the ingredient labels, I found that the store brand formula was equal to the name brands. As mother's, we all want the best for our babies, and try to make sure that we give them nourishing beverages, food as well as snacks. The brand name isn't always the best and with store brands you can typically save to 50 percent on formula.
Wal-Mart has a sale on "Parent’s Choice Milk Infant Formula", which is listed 1 (12.9 oz) can for $5.00. This is a good savings and the formula has all the ingredients of any name brand formula's. Of course as with any sale, this is for a limited time. If you are the parent of a newborn are older baby that's still on formula, then it would be a good thing to stock up while the sale is in effect.

Metal Sconces.........

Many of the things I already have, are collecting dust and I find this to be so, with things on the wall. There are many different styles, to choose from, so if you need a good gift to give some one, this would be the place to shop.

36 years.........

Ernie and Velma..........will be married 36 years, this November............last year they are celebrated their anniversary at our local hang out.........and inviting numerous friends and family...........The last time they had an anniversary party, I was invited and it was a smash.

This year it won't be festive, because they have been separated for almost that long. It's a terrible thing to experience..........and she tells me that they are still married, but not living together, because of the way things are going. She now lives with their son, and it seems that most of his family are unhappy with the way he has been doing, since the break up. It's so sad, and my heart goes out to her during this horrible time.

You Are.........

If we wanted others opinions, we would have asked them. Most of them know what our break up was about, and so they think we should stay apart. I believe that if two people love each other as much as we do, then they should find a common ground. So, we went underground and faced our own feelings the way we wanted to. Without them and their opinions! Now they are pushing it and delving deeper into our business. So I guess we'll have to decide soon, what we are really going to do........and get this crap over with. Darn all these idiots.........we're both well over grown.....and have a right to make our own decisions.........And we will !

Some Parents Sceptical...........

Registered Nurse Tracy Myers holds a dose of the H1N1 swine ...
Some parents say they are concerned about side effects from the new vaccine, even though nothing serious has turned up in tests so far, while others say swine flu doesn't amount to any greater health threat than seasonal flu.

The AP poll found that 38 percent of parents said they were unlikely to give permission for their kids to be vaccinated at school. The belief that the new vaccine could be risky is one federal health officials have been fighting from the start, and they plan an unprecedented system of monitoring for side effects.

Nursing Home Crisis......

The nursing home industry is headed for a crisis. It comes as the nation's baby boomers age ever closer toward needing nursing home care. The nation's nursing homes are perilously close to laying off workers, cutting services, possibly even closing, because of a perfect storm wallop from the recession and deep federal and state government spending cuts.
A Medicare rate adjustment that cuts an estimated $16 billion in nursing home funding over the next 10 years was enacted on top of state-level cuts or flat-funding that already had the industry reeling. This year, 24 states have cut funding for nursing home care and other health services needed by low-income people who are elderly or disabled. The annual closure rate is rising, for reasons that include inadequate Medicaid reimbursement rates and the push for more home and community care.

Vaccine Shortages.......

Waiting for the swine flu vaccine? Well, you might have to wait a bit longer for a seasonal flu shot, too. The delay and cutbacks have already forced some doctor's offices to turn away patients and others to cancel clinics around the country. The three companies account for about 100 million of the nation's expected 114 million doses. About 70 million of the expected 114 million doses already have been delivered. Health care providers say early demand appears to be higher this year, because of public attention to the swine flu pandemic. October is the traditional time when seasonal flu vaccine clinics open. Outbreaks can happen earlier, but the flu usually peaks in January or later. Five manufacturers are scrambling to crank out plenty of vaccine against swine flu — what scientists call the 2009 H1N1 strain — and the first doses should be given early next week.
