Our family has another person, who is experiencing health problems. This comes in the form of cancer and I'm sure you all know what that means. My sister's husband, has been diagnosed with throat cancer, and is beginning his journey, through all the processes and treatments, needed to eventually remove the tumor.
Being unable to eat very well, he has already lost a large amount of weight, with the average of 4lbs. a week. It's a good thing he had the extra weight to lose, but it has made him very weak.
Please, lift him and my sister up in your prayers, for healing and a quick recovery.......I thank you so much! :)

So It Is Christmas
Here we are in the middle of December, with only a few days till Christmas and people are running around getting things together for the big day. I've lost interest in most of the season trimming's since the kids are gone and grown. It's just almost another day, since they all have separate lives and live in different areas of the USA.
I have one person who I make efforts for and he's my man, who I live with daily. There are at least 3 of my kids and one of his that we send gift cards to. Other than that, it's a day we spend together, being thankful for each other and the time we have together.
I'll cook if that's what we decide to do, but if we go for the other, then we will drive to a local restaurant and have our Christmas meal. There is at least one or two that are open on Christmas day. Lucky them! We will give each other the gifts that we decided on and get ready for the coming day, when he will head back to work. I suppose I'm lucky in a way, because there are many people who will not have anyone or anything to spend or do with this Christmas. We have a home, plenty of food, cars and the bills are paid on time. That's a good thing in itself, considering the times I wondered where the next paycheck would come from and if there would be enough for food. Yes, we have a good life, and I am thankful for the blessings I have daily.
So, with this said, I want to send wishes for a Merry Christmas to you and yours, this year and remember the "Reason For The Season", JESUS CHRIST.

Back Then
Those were the days when I could look good in my clothes. Now, I just try to hide in my clothes, with all the fat and wrinkles, I have accumulated. When I look in the mirror, I can't see anything that resembles this person here. Being old is not funny, but I guess it's better than being dead.

Soul Shaping
Down through the last few years, I've come to read many articles by Jeff Brown who I learned of through a mutual friend and writer. His books and articles give insight to the real meaning of love and inner happiness. Take the time to join him on Facebook or invest in one of his great books.

Gift Cards
Our local grocery store has the amenities to offer gift cards for other purchases. We bought a gift card which can give a discount on car gas, today. We only received 3 cents off per gallon, but since the gas prices are going down, it help a bit. I often get cards to give for special occasions, and it would be nice if my family members would keep them and then I could just fill them back up, when needed. Either way, I guess it doesn't matter, except for waiting for the online store to ship it.

A New Decade
Yesterday, was a turning point in my life. I moved from the 60's to the 70's and now I'm really on the downhill slide. They say one foot in the grave and the other sliding. How many times have I said that to someone who was older than me? Now the shoe fits and it don't feel a damn bit good. I guess I'll try and go out gracefully, but I know that won't be the case with me. I'll be fighting it tooth and claw and hating every moment I loose ground.

Day After
I'm sure all who celebrate Thanksgiving were full of good food, yesterday. They either made it, went to a cafe, shelter, or family get together to enjoy the feast. I for one was the cooker, and then when I ate, I made a glutton of myself and was miserable the rest of the day. I really didn't want anymore to eat the rest of the day even though there was pumpkin pie, made fresh the day before.
Today, I have had a turkey sandwich and plan on a good meal, later this evening. Thank God I'm not crazy enough to be out there fighting with the idiots who are looking for good deals this "Black Friday". I'll just take the easy way out when shopping for Christmas this year. It's the same as several years before, since I've been online with internet help. Gift cards are much easier to get and the person receiving them, can get what they want. If they return their gifts then it's their own faults.

Old Photos
I got a call from my sister this morning, and was able to catch it. My phone hasn't been doing what it's supposed to, so I was surprised to see her call coming through.
Anyway, she had found some old pictures of family that's no longer with us. She was in the vicinity and was going to drop them off. Told her I was here to come on by, that I'd be around. It was good to see her, since I've been stuck in the house for awhile. She had a new car again, which adds to the other's she's managed to get in the last few years.
As for the old pic's, I'll try to get some copies made and put them on here randomly. Keep an eye out for these articles, coming in the near future........

RIP Robin
Hollywood, will feel the loss for years to come with the death of "Robin Williams". His funny witt and antics keep audience's rolling in their seats. It's hard to realize that the demons which attack the sanity of some people are real and they suffer horribly. It's sad to see this happen to someone who gave so much to others. Maybe now he can rest in peace. Here's to you Mork, na no, na no!

The Soldier
You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.
He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.

You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.
He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.

You roll your eyes as a baby cries.
He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.
This was sent to me in an email, which I'm passing along to my reader's........source unknown.

Not Again
It seems as though my life is always full of people who just don't stay around very long. Meeting a person who you find full of the things that you want to be around and then them leaving you after you get accustomed to having them around is hard to deal with.
Yesterday, we found out that my partner of 1 year, may have throat cancer. His blood pressure is high and the doctor raised the level of his meds for that during the same visit. COPD is also a factor of this health problem which he developed recently. I have no choice but to stand with him during this awful time. At the present he is feeling the effects of finding out and accepting what is. I can't be anything but close by to support him, when he needs me. Loosing someone so soon in the relationship is not going to be a good thing. I hope he can beat this problem and be healthy so we can be together for a long time.

What Did You Get?
Well, it was better than I expected. At least he got the silk rose for me on his own without me having to say anything. I wasn't expecting anything, since he has built the reputation of not thinking that days like that are special. So, it was nice to find that his idea's were starting to change a bit. That helped the Valentines's feeling for the evening, but that was all there was. No romantic times were had. Damn it!

1 Year
It's been one year today, since I met my man. It was on a Sunday evening, so actually the day involved would have been yesterday. But since today is the 10th it is the date we met last year. I know that he will be tired when he gets home, and not feel like doing anything. To top it all off he's had a bad cold the last few days. That takes away from the fun as well. I guess I should have taken my queue from his earlier actions regarding holiday's and their importance to him. Today, will be like any other to him and I might as well accept it. Sad though!

Louisville, KY
It's been awhile since I lived in Kentucky, but I remember the time well. The area wasn't near Louisville, but it was still located in the same state. I'm sure there are some who would be interested in real estate in louisville ky to purchase for their retirement. Young couples could be looking to settle in the area as well. For more information they can click on the link in this post and do some shopping for their future.

Turkey Day?
Here we are once again on the week which hosts "Thanksgiving Day". This is the time of year when families and friends get together to give thanks for things they can appreciate. It's a pleasure for some, bittersweet for others and even sad for many. You look back on the year and the events which occurred remembering the good with the sad as well as bad. It's not always a thankful time, for some, yet when we realize that others have things much worse than us, it's something to be thankful for. To all my friends, family and acquaintances out there on the web, I wish you all a very happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Awhile
Isn't it amazing the way you can go for days, weeks or even months, not hear from someone and yet, when you do, it's like the time was there at all? I've actually seen time pass in front of my face, when I meet up with people I haven't seen in a few years. It's sometimes hard to imagine that they would turn out to be like they are. You know that time never stands still, and I guess that's why we all grow so damned old before we realize it. It wouldn't hurt for it to slow down just a damn little bit. Could help me find a few more things to do, people to meet and learn new things.

How in the Hell?
Seems like sometimes you just can't get it right no matter what you do. How do you meet someone and it be so perfect for such a great time and then suddenly fall apart right in front of your face. A relationship between two people is supposed to be a good one. The one I've been in has been very good, until last weekend. Now, I wonder if it's worth carrying any further. So many things happened that could have been different, has the right choices been made. I just don't know where to go with this, and am scared it will become a mountain instead of a molehill.
