Toys For Tots

I had 3 birthdays in January and it was for the 3 youngest grand daughter's of mine.  They are all born in the same month, and it's a bit expensive to get  toys  for the girl's in the month right after Christmas.  I look for sales and hope to find good deals when shopping during this time.  The after Christmas sales, help the expense on me and I search for something I know their age groups are interested in playing with.

Whittling........

Do you remember back a few years ago, when the men would sit outside and take a piece of raw wood, then begin to whittle it?  I remember my grandpa, would sit out in the yard, where the shavings could drop without causing a problem, and he would wile the time away, just sitting there whittling on that piece of wood.  Sometimes, he would spend days on one piece or put it up and go back to it a day or so later.  Depended on the weather, sometimes and on his mood other times.  He would whittle it right down to a bare thin piece, only to cut it up into tiny pieces and start on another piece, if he had one handy.
People don't do things like this anymore, because their lives are full of things that the modern world has delivered up for them to do.

Cribs Being Recalled.......

About 635,000 cribs sold by Kmart, Sears, Wal-Mart and other stores are being recalled after the death of a 6 month old child and other reports of injuries.  The 6 month old strangled after getting trapped in the crib when the drop-side hardware broke. Job Search........

Living in California, is very nice unless you are without work.  Searching for employment is very hard anywhere and you need assistance to find a good job.  The Oakland job search is centered around the Oakland and suburban areas locally.  If you are living in these areas then, finding a job will be hard to do unless you get a listing of employers who are hiring. You can find these online or go to your local workforce offices.

I'm Alone

I find that being alone, has it’s good sides.  It of course has it’s bad sides, but that’s to be expected.  I know that I am independent and that makes for many lonely days and nights.  I don’t expect anyone to accept me the way that I am, because they have their own ways of life.  Mine is to be without all the crap that people try to push on you.  Mine is to have a calm atmosphere around me.  I find that this world doesn’t know how to live without drama.  Drama is for idiots.  Life doesn’t have to be full of turmoil all the time….so, that’s why I separate myself from these people.

Too Old....

If your a baby boomer as I am, then you know how the younger set of people preceive us.  It’s horrible the way we are treated, when we try to have a normal life.  It’s as if it’s time for us to go on and get out of the way.  I never thought things would be this bad, but now I find that this is what it’s come down to.  Once you get a certain age, you are labeled and pushed aside……..

Getting Old..........

This aging thing is really getting under my skin.  I don't like it and there's not a thing I can do to stop it.  The wrinkles just keep popping up and I'm about ready to invest in a good anti-aging cream.  There's a
