Turkey?

No, not this time, but I did make giblet gravy and dressing along with ham, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie.  My man doesn't like turkey, so I fixed the meat he likes and it worked out fine.  How was  your turkey day?
We had baked ham, chicken & dressing, sweet potatoes, corn, crescent rolls and pies......I ate like a pig, and felt like a pig when I finished my plate........

Turkey Day?

Here we are once again on the week which hosts "Thanksgiving Day".  This is the time of year when families and friends get together to give thanks for things they can appreciate.  It's a pleasure for some, bittersweet for others and even sad for many.  You look back on the year and the events which occurred remembering the good with the sad as well as bad.  It's not always a thankful time, for some, yet when we realize that others have things much worse than us, it's something to be thankful for.  To all my friends, family and acquaintances out there on the web, I wish you all a very happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Your Kitchen

It's always refreshing to go into one's home and enjoy a special time around the kitchen table.  What's even better is if you are family enough to be invited into their kitchen.  I enjoy seeing a good organized kitchen, where people can find anything just by opening the cabinet doors or drawers.  Finding a good organizer for cookware  makes it much easier to get the job done, in an expert way.  I suggest going to the website under the link in this post and see what they have to offer.

What to Do?

I'm in a relationship with a man, who isn't into getting to know my family and friends.  I have no idea why except his excuse that they will think he's using me because of the age difference.  See, he's 14 years younger than me and he thinks they will be skeptical to him and our relationship.  It's for sure I found some eyebrows to be raised, about a few subjects, but in all they were smoothed when they realized how happy I was.  Still he hasn't even made the effort to introduce me to his Mom, and other siblings.  This is disheartening, since many times he has said we will go see Mom, this weekend only to fudge on the matter.  I have talked to her on the phone and as of last week he finally trusted me with her phone number.  I don't feel secure the way he is doing things and wonder just how far he will take these matters?
The holidays are coming up and I'm at a loss as to what I can do for all subjects involved.  I know that sooner or later the matter of meeting mine and his will come into focus, but how is everyone going to handle the long wait?  I just am at a loss in these matters and wish he would stop being so elusive.

My Sister

Rebekah Gaye Young Parrish, is my sister and she is the only one left out of 7 girls born to Mom.  She was a twin and her twin passed a few hours after birth.  I often wonder who really lived, since they were identical twins and may have been given the wrong ID bracelet.  Either way we are all we have and that's better than not having anyone.

Trunk

I can remember down through the years about how my grandmother and great grandmothers would keep their quilts and blankets in a huge Cedar Trunk  during the summer months.  Most of the time there were extras inside so that they could be used when company would come to visit.  I've watched as those two ladies would sit around quilting frames making quilts for the winter months cold.

Awhile

Isn't it amazing the way you can go for days, weeks or even months, not hear from someone and yet, when you do, it's like the time was there at all?  I've actually seen time pass in front of my face, when I meet up with people I haven't seen in a few years.  It's sometimes hard to imagine that they would turn out to be like they are.  You know that time never stands still, and I guess that's why we all grow so damned old before we realize it.  It wouldn't hurt for it to slow down just a damn little bit.  Could help me find a few more things to do, people to meet and learn new things.

This Hand

I take a look at my hands and see what does not look like a woman's hands.  Through the year's of hard work and making life livable, these hands have been through hell and back.

Not Right

I don't live in California, but I'm sure some of the people who do, have come to find themselves in a position of being let go from a job.  They may feel that the terms under which they were let go, were done wrong.  If they need assistance to file wrongful termination in San Diego  I feel they can find a good attorney in that local area.  For more information, you can click on the link in this post, go to the website and do some research.

All of Us

In the last year, it seems that there has been a chain reaction of eye problems.  My sister, her sister in law, and also myself have had to have cataract surgery on one or both eyes.  My sister had the hardest surgery to deal with, since she had to have her "retina" re-attached.  Then after that, she got cataracts on that eye, causing her more surgery.  Her sister in law, had her right eye fixed, and I had both my eyes worked on for the same.  We were 3 blind mice for awhile.  I am very glad to have all this over with and now once again be able to see.
