My Oldest Grand Daughter with Emberlynn

Even though it isn't her daughter she had a distinct motherly instinct.  Here is Christy and Emberlynn, the oldest grand daughter and my youngest great grand daughter.  Damn, I'm getting old.

Now There are Two

Two young ladies are now a part of our family.  One was born two years ago and the other on the 13th of this month.  These two little girls are blood great grand daughters, from my grandson.  I have two other great grand children, who are not blood but their father was adopted by my son.  I'm not looking forward to this Great Grandmother thing, but then I lived this long and can't gripe about that.  I suppose this is the way I live on even after I'm gone.  Hopefully, I can find a way to see through their eyes, then.

Risk?

Are you at risk?

Be Sensible

Official advice about how to dress in such extreme cold weather,  is listed from the National Weather Service:
• Make sure to wear layers of loose-fitting, lightweight, warm clothing. Trapped air between the layers will insulate you.
• The outer garments should be tightly woven, water repellent, and hooded.
• Make sure to wear a hat, because 40 percent of your body heat can be lost from your head.
• Also cover your mouth to protect your lungs from extreme cold.
• Wear mittens, that are snug at the wrist, they are better than gloves.
•  Most of all, try to stay dry and out of the wind.
