New Pet

Since moving to the family home, I decided to get a companion.  Since there are no men I'm considering, then I guess a cat will have to do.........!  She arrived 2 days ago, and has remained for the most part, shy.  Last night she actually came out from hiding a allowed me to pet her.  I'm sure it won't be long until she will be under foot most of the time..........now, just getting her to eat and drink water and using the litter box.........hope she's not making me a mess somewhere.

Doing Better

Visited the nursing home this morning and could tell that Mom is doing much better.  About a week or so ago, I wouldn't have given her 2 or 3 days to live.  She has rallied and actually had the orderlies help her get up and sit in her recliner.  This is a big action on her part, since most of the time she has make it clear she didn't want to get up out of the bed.  Her husband was shocked when she asked the aides to help her get up and to her chair.  This is a step in the right direction.

Finally

The daughter I was worried about finally called and let me know how she was doing.  It was good to hear from her and know that she is well and doing fine.  It had been over two months since I had gotten a call from her, and at that time she was having financial problems.  It is good to see her regroup and make an effort to get her life back on track.  Wish some other people would do that.

No News

I'm waiting to hear from my oldest daughter.  She hasn't contacted me in over two months and the last time I heard from her she was having problems with her job and finances.  I do hope she found a feasible way to handle her problems and not be living in dire need.  They say "no news, is good news", I say damn it, they could call and let me know they are ok.

New People

Almost daily I find myself meeting new people and recognizing people from the past.  The town I moved to, is my old home town.  There are many new people living here, and a few of the old people still around.  It's like watching time past in front of my face, when I run into one of the people I grew up around.  Seeing how they look after all these years can really get your attention.  I can only imagine how I must look to them. 
The nice part is that most of the bullies around back then are gone, and that's a good thing.  The new people who have moved here in the last few years are of a different scenario.  It's great starting over in my old home town, and I relish the time I am enjoying at the present.

The Kid

Years ago, when I lived here in my home town, there were several people that I knew very well.  The kids 2 doors down were part of my world back then.  Today, I can sit and look across the street at a grey brick house, which house's one of those people.  They chose to stay here in our small town and raise their children.  The boy who is now a man, will sit with his wife and a grandchild on the front porch in the early mornings and late evenings.  It's funny how life and years change things, which gives subjects a whole new prospective. 

Mom

This is one of the trips Mom took to the hospital in the last 3 months.  This picture was taken when she actually ate a few things.  Today, she isn't eating and has been fitted with a feeding tube.  We only hope that she will get needed nourishment to sustain her health.


Once again we have had to place her in the hospital with problems and we don't know if we will have her around much long?  This isn't something we are wanting to happen, but we realize there comes a time, when people just get tired.
