Veiwing Art

I've often thought of how much time goes into drawing and making the beautiful paintings we are allowed to see in museums.  It's amazing the way these people blend the artist paint  to cause certain colors and scenes.  I tried my hand at this one time and realized the expense plus the efforts involved to start such an endeavor.  As with many of my artistic trials, I soon became disinterested, because of the time it took to develop such beauty.

School

The days are back upon youngsters as they go to enroll for their new school year.  Many are ready to get back and see their classmates to hear all the summer stories.  Others are ready to show off their new clothes to their friends and teachers.  This is a bad time for parents, because of the expense involved in clothing these children.

Peace

A Party

I went to a party,
And remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom,
So I had a sprite instead.

I felt proud of myself,
The way you said I would,
That I didn't drink and drive,
Though some friends said I should.

I made a healthy choice,
And your advice to me was right.
The party finally ended,
And the kids drove out of sight..

I got into my car,
Sure to get home in one piece.
I never knew what was coming, Mom,
Something I expected least.

Now I'm lying on the pavement,
And I hear the policeman say,
The kid that caused this wreck was drunk,
Mom, his voice seems far away.

My own blood's all around me,
As I try hard not to cry...
I can hear the paramedic say,
This girl is going to die.

I'm sure the guy had no idea,
While he was flying high.
Because he chose to drink and drive,
Now I would have to die.

So why do people do it, Mom
Knowing that it ruins lives?
And now the pain is cutting me,
Like a hundred stabbing knives.

Tell sister not to be afraid, Mom
Tell daddy to be brave.
And when I go to heaven,
Put ' Mommy's Girl' on my grave.

Someone should have taught him,
That it's wrong to drink and drive.
Maybe if his parents had,
I'd still be alive.

My breath is getting shorter,
Mom I'm getting really scared
These are my final moments,
And I'm so unprepared.

I wish that you could hold me Mom,
As I lie here and die..
I wish that I could say, 'I love you, Mom!'
So I love you and good - bye.

Father

Tomorrow is Father's Day.......I want to give credit to my step-dad.  He is a nice sweet man, who has spent his last few year's with my Mom.  I give him credit for his rose colored glasses and the way he uses them.  He is so in love with my Mom, and is has to be that or pure loss of mind.  She pushes him to the very limits and he goes right along with love all in his eyes.  Is he seeing something I'm not? 
To his children:  I say you are sorry, lowdown and no good.  This doesn't give you much to be proud of does it?  After all the years' this man worked and gave you what you needed to grow up and survive, this is the way you say thank you?  I am ashamed of you and I know that your sins will not go unpunished.  Still I wish you could have loved your Father, because of those year's.  Not because you are mad at him for marrying my mother within six months of your mother's death.  He has been happy and that's something you should have wanted for him.  The only sadness he has is the loss of the love of his children.......Shame on you.

My Corn

This is corn in my garden.........it's a first year garden and I am finding what grows good in what area and what doesn't.  The storms blew the corn over 3 times but it managed to raise itself back up as it reached for the sun.  I  now have small ears of corn growing and can't wait to enjoy the fresh sweet corn.

Tomatoes Are Blooming

Great excitement is what comes from seeing your hard work starting to evolve and later pay off.  I can't wait to watch the new tomatoes form and start growing.  Better yet is the day that I will be able to take a big bite of one or slice into a huge one for a sandwich.

Tee's

Everyone likes to wear  funny shirts   when socializing at different events.  Making a funny shirt have flair is even more important to the occasion.  It says what you may or may not be thinking and at the same time gives others a sense of fun and relaxation.  What can you say, when some one wears a statement shirt?  Nothing the shirt says it all.

Potatoes

The potato plants are growing and soon, they will be blooming.  Very soon after that they above ground plant will start to die back.  It's around this time that we should dig up the potatoes that are growing under ground.  For some reason the "red" potatoes did not fare well, but the "white" one's came up and thrived.  It will be nice to have some home grown vegetables this year.  What would be even better is if I could get the right date back on my camera, but every time I take the disk out to download the pictures, the date changes.
