Oldest Living Man

Francis, the nation's oldest man who lived through both world wars, man's first walk on the moon and got to vote for the first black president, has died. He was 112. This man who at his prime barely weighed more than 100 pounds, was born June 6, 1896, in New Orleans. As an African-American in the South, he felt the sting of the Jim Crow-era segregation laws in his early life.

Afternoon Relaxing

This is friends, that we get together with........at our local bar........we went down after everyone left, from Christmas dinner............because we were told we had won a raffle.......Sure enough, we won a raffle and claimed our prize.....in the mean time we visited with Velma and Ernie....had a couple of brews...and wished everyone a Merry Christmas.........

Father Teaches Son.....

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.' The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, 'Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are.' Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have. 'Life is too short and friends are too few.'

As you can tell, it has been celebrated by families, local and abroad.....for centuries........... There are Christmas plays, in which the children get to be one of the figures in the Nativity scene at their local church or house of worship.




Each child, looks forward to that special time of the year, when "Santa" comes to visit, with all his goodies...........if you notice, it seems to be the only time you can get the kids to behave themselves much better than any other time........
I was involved with a family that was large with this one and had to have their Christmas in a large family home or go to a civic center and rent it for a few hours. There was always plenty of food, games with prizes and family interaction. Towards the end of the evening one of the family men would dress as Santa and come in the door............to a roaring sound of squeals of delight from the children..........and parents as well............
Each country celebrates Christmas in their own traditional cultures and ways...........these are from El Refugio...


The families of this culture, drive in huge trucks.........long ways to meet with the people, who have brought Santa and gifts to them from other countries. Otherwise, these children might not have a Christmas........

The two friends she traveled with were both killed as they made a trip to represent the Synchronicity Foundation. She Has No Hair........

It's been a couple of months since it happened, and my oldest daughter has started to grow back short hair...........

Lost My Watch

I know you might say that loosing a watch might be a trivial thing, but not this one........it was the gold nugget watch that my spouse gave me in September for our anniversary.......now it's gone, and I feel really bad about it...........I lost it yesterday, when I was celebrating my birthday, and I drank one too many beers. Well, did you watch it............I did, but got tired of all the "girlie" stuff. It was always the girls doing what they do best..........show skin. But to me the whole show was boring, and what do you expect from a bunch of entertainers? I say, to be entertained...........but surely I jest. This year was all about fashion..............should I say............a certain designer's fashion line.............so, who's interested in some gay looking person, with all the crap they dish out..............you can tell when someone is "sweet". This one was more than sweet..............down right stupid, is what I call this fashion designer...............trying to design the whole show..............and almost ruined it............actually, he did ruin it..........what kind of expert is he...........to tell us what to like in clothes? He's just one of the many fashion designer's, who have altered the fashion industry....... and many of them are just as bad as he is..........! I guess it's too bad that Amy Winehouse couldn't be there................the show would have really been bazarre!

Did You Get Fatter........

Thanksgiving and the other holidays' play havoc on our diets and I for one am having the problem. I love to eat and..........you guessed it.........I love to cook. Everyone comes to my house for Thanksgiving.........that is.......everyone that knows I cook. I've tried to discourage some outsiders' but alas, they still manage to make it to the door.
Since I'm the cook of the main items, I know how the food is going to taste.............therefore, I will make a plate which is "man size"and attempt to eat it. My family says that if there's too much on a plate and I can't eat it all..........then that was a big plate! What a horrible thing for them to say about me...... :(
As time would take it's toll on my body, so did the food. Now the once lithe body is just a short dumpy one. Still I do love to eat and figure, that I only live once and need to be able to enjoy myself as much as possible.........That's my story........and I'm sticking to it!

Terriosts Blamed For Attacks........

Attacks have happened once again, and loss of lives were a horrible scene to all who experienced this tirade. India has been shaken repeatedly by terror attacks blamed on Muslim militants in recent years. A team of FBI agents was ordered to fly to India to investigate the attacks.
Fifteen foreigners, including five Americans, were among the dead. More than 150 people were killed in the violence that began when gunmen attacked 10 sites across India's financial capital Wednesday night.
New York Rabbi Gavriel Noach Holtzberg and his wife, Rivkah, were found at the Jewish center.

Their son, Moshe, who turns 2 on Saturday, was scooped up by an employee as she fled the building.

The Taj Mahal hotel was wracked by hours of intermittent gunfire and explosions throughout the day.

I Ate Too Much.....

Wow with all the good food we had this year........it was impossible for me to control my eating.......but, since I've had the miserable cold the last week, it's been hard to have an appetite and so it wasn't hard to not be very hungry. I cooked most of the food, so by the time I had finished, I was tired of looking at food anyway. Still I managed to get a large amount of it into my mouth.......which I hear many other people did.......
