Important Dates

Why is it that I have to almost make it an obsession to get some one's birthday taken care of?  It's as if that's trivial and if If don't keep my mind directly on the subject I will forget to send a card or call until it's the next day!  One time I was three days after my Mom's before I realized I had missed it.  I felt bad but what can you do after all that time?  I called, and told her that I had told myself everyday to do it, and yet when the day came, it went right out the window...........she tried to act amused and as if it hadn't bothered her, but I knew better.  I'm a mother myself, and it bothers me when my children can't remember they have a mom.
