Daughter

Since my daughter got her cell phone, I don't get to sleep late in the mornings.  She will text me, just to say "morning".  Now, anyone who likes to sleep late knows what this does to your demeanor so early in the morning.  Trying to be nice is hard when your morning sleep in get interrupted.

Visits

I should be ashamed for not visiting the nursing home anymore that I do.  I resist the reminder of how close I am to that time in life.  I suppose I will be alone without someone to care that I live or die?  I resist being dependent on anyone for my mental health and emotional stability.  Financially, I doing fair so that's not a real big issue on my list, unless something unforeseen happens. 
Mom & Henry are sleeping most of the times these days.  This is the reports I get from my sister, who checks on them weekly.  It's to be expected at this stage in their lives.  I hate to see people get this far after being so active all their lives.  Just sad!

Paris

If your a baby boomer as I am, then you know how the younger set of people preceive us.  It’s horrible the way we are treated, when we try to have a normal life.  It’s as if it’s time for us to go on and get out of the way.  I never thought things would be this bad, but now I find that this is what it’s come down to.  Once you get a certain age, you are labeled and pushed aside……..

Trip To Dallas

Well, me, my sister and her sister in law, took our usual trip to Dallas again, today.  It's one of those girl's out day and we manage to have some fun while doing so.  Mainly we go for lunch and then make rounds to other places of interest.  Then it's back home and our day together is over.  Too bad we couldn't have longer to get more fun out of it.  Oh well I am thankful for just the time we do spend together.

The Last Part

I've always considered the last part of life to be demeaning.  It is a slide downhill for the elderly and they loose dignity along with the functions of their bodies.  As I embark on this era of my life I find that there's nowhere else to go.  Sad as it may seem, I must consider the eminent future of my demise.
Growing up I wanted to get older, so I could have the benefits of being an adult.  Today, those benefits are come and slowly going.  I've had the responsibilities of being an adult and now look toward the future of loosing most of my responsibilities, because of digressing age.  This is scary but what's even more scary is the eventual end.  I fear this thing called "death" and wish there was a way to bypass it.  Somehow, I know there is no effort I can make to be rid of the horrible fate.  So, here I sit, fearing and wondering what the next moment will take me to?

Super Bowl

Most eyes will be on the big screen TV's this evening at the Ravens and 49er's take the field.  Once again the Super Bowl is happening and once again the Cowboy's are not on the list.  The Texas fans are really tired of this and wish that something would light a fire under our team.
There will be die hard fans around the world watching tonight's game and the bets will be flying.  I can't imagine the money involved in all the bets which will be on-going about this game.
Even though some fans will be sitting on pins and needles they will still do the one thing that has held their family together for years.  The tradition of going to church will still be done by many who believe in the one true God.  I'm sure many of these people will turn on the car radio's on the way home to catch up on the game scores.  Either way this day has arrived along with it's food, fun and festivities.  May the best team win.
