It's nice to have several of these when you live in a cold area and it snows often. Many use a beanie to keep their head and ears warm. Then you have people who rush off to a meeting and don't have time fix their hair. They just pull a beanie down over it and go on to their chore of shopping and such. I have made a few beanies, while sitting at home watching TV. Most people haven't learned how to crotchet or knit. They rely on stores for their supply of beanies.
