Did You Get Fatter........
Thanksgiving and the other holidays' play havoc on our diets and I for one am having the problem. I love to eat and..........you guessed it.........I love to cook. Everyone comes to my house for Thanksgiving.........that is.......everyone that knows I cook. I've tried to discourage some outsiders' but alas, they still manage to make it to the door.
Since I'm the cook of the main items, I know how the food is going to taste.............therefore, I will make a plate which is "man size"and attempt to eat it. My family says that if there's too much on a plate and I can't eat it all..........then that was a big plate! What a horrible thing for them to say about me...... :(
As time would take it's toll on my body, so did the food. Now the once lithe body is just a short dumpy one. Still I do love to eat and figure, that I only live once and need to be able to enjoy myself as much as possible.........That's my story........and I'm sticking to it!

Terriosts Blamed For Attacks........
Fifteen foreigners, including five Americans, were among the dead. More than 150 people were killed in the violence that began when gunmen attacked 10 sites across India's financial capital Wednesday night.
New York Rabbi Gavriel Noach Holtzberg and his wife, Rivkah, were found at the Jewish center.
I Ate Too Much.....
Wow with all the good food we had this year........it was impossible for me to control my eating.......but, since I've had the miserable cold the last week, it's been hard to have an appetite and so it wasn't hard to not be very hungry. I cooked most of the food, so by the time I had finished, I was tired of looking at food anyway. Still I managed to get a large amount of it into my mouth.......which I hear many other people did.......
Come on......now be honest.........how many of you actually controlled your intake, this Thanksgiving?

Office Furniture
Last Minute Preps...........
Let's see.........I've got the turkey out thawing and also the ham.............today.......I'll cook the ham and the pecan pies.............then tomorrow morning I'll hit the floor running............putting on the turkey.............peeling the potatoes............making the cornbread............peeling and quartering the sweet potatoes........chopping the onions, celery.........boiling the eggs.........and you name it...........I'll be doing it............so, I'll not have the time for much effort on this computer, until all are fed and gone back to their homes...........and I finally sit down to take a much needed rest.........
I'm not really ready for this.......but me and my big mouth always gets me into trouble...........and now after doing it so many times..........it's become a tradition with me............so, I can't opt out! That would be a disaster, to many who expect me to do this..........they'd ask me if I'm sick.........
Yeah, sick in the head..........but with all that's said and done...........it's just one small thing I can contribute to life........and my family.........
To all of you............may you have a safe and happy Thanksgiving............

Diaper Rash......
When your are changing it's diaper, then wet a wash cloth in warm water to clean the baby/ But before you clean the baby, take the cloth and saturate it with, the baby's bath soap or regular hand soap. Clean your baby and instead of removing the soap that's on it's behind, simply put the baby's diaper on with it on the baby and let the soap dry, while the baby is sleeping, playing or whatever it's doing. You will notice that the rash starts to subside and is gone in a day or so if you do this each time the baby's diaper is changed........of course once the rash has healed, you don't have to do this anymore.
It's a simple matter of killing the germs in the sores, by leaving the soap to dry the area that keeps getting wet or irritated.

National Institute of Marriage
They say it can't be saved and yet it's a real thing, that most of the time, they haven't tried. Today's world is really stressful on a person, much less their marriage. If you are married and having a rough time with the way things are happening in this world, then you probably have a lot of trauma in your marriage as well. The National Institute of Marriage
created marriage counseling programs and resources utilizing a structure to assist families to rebuild their marriage and stay together. This gives them the strategies to make this a fulfilling relationship and enhance the quality of their marriage. A man and wife have enough distractions in daily life and need to be able to discuss and consider solutions.
If you are considering divorce, then try the National Institute of Marriage before giving up. Why throw away a life that's already been established and just needs some assisting, to bring back the quality, it once had? Finding the love and adoration, that started with the simple "I DO", is hard to do unless you have counseling, to help you associate once again with the person, you chose for life. This institute has a service that can help couples improve their marital satisfaction and go on to a long last life together.
Press Release:
With the national divorce rate around 50%, there is no doubt that many marriages run into communication problems at some point. There is a communication epidemic. The National Institute of Marriage has created marriage counseling programs and resources utilizing a structure that is the most powerful format they have found for helping couples who feel stuck and hopeless. They have designed several programs to help couples move past the barriers and experience the marriage of their dreams.
NIM's Intensive Marriage Counseling Programs are unique from weekly marriage counseling in three distinctive ways:
· Intensive Marriage Counseling Format: Committing to an extended amount of concentrated time like the 2 or 4 day Marriage Intensive allows people to get to the root of the problem and stick with it in order to work through it. If you’ve been in traditional marriage counseling before, you may have experienced how you spend the first half catching up from the week before, the second half getting into the real issues, and then the time is gone. The Intensive format is designed so that people have the chance to go deeper without many of the other distractions of daily life and have enough discuss to consider solutions.
· Efficiency: One of the first steps in the process is an extensive assessment with some questionnaires. This allows the therapists to gather background information and can get an idea of the best strategy to proceed before you arrive for your session.
· Marriage Counselors: The counselors at the National Institute of Marriage are specialists in this area. One analogy we like to use is that of the Mayo Clinic: people go to their regular physician but may be sent to a specialist to work with specific areas. The NIM marriage therapists have been trained in this format to maximize its effectiveness. Also, the NIM marriage counseling programs provide the perspectives and insight of two professionals rather than one.
If you are considering divorce, you must try the National Institute of Marriage before giving up. They have developed a continuum of care that meets couples wherever they may be in their relationship. Regardless of the health of their marriage they have a service that can help couples improve their marital satisfaction. Visit their website at http://www.nationalmarriage.com. Read the incredible testimonies from the couples that saved their marriages by attending a Marriage Intensive at the National Institute of Marriage.

Code Amber Alert........
I went through a brief period one time when my oldest daughter, decided she would explore the town and was missing for several hours. We found her, but during the time she was gone, everyone became a suspect and the house was full of officers and people we didn't even know. Our whole world was exposed to the public and we had nothing left unturned.
This experience is a horrible thing to go through, many are never found and some are found in the terrible ways of we don't want to think about.
The Amber Code Alert is a non profit origination and needs your help to stay in operation.
The operating costs are modest at about $4,500 per month and they
depend on support through contributions from people like you to keep
running. Your contributions fund their servers, office Internet service,
phones, utilities, office expenses and staff. They do not receive government
funding of any kind. Contact them today, and give the helping hand to those who experience these types of trauma in their lives.

Not going To Do It..............
I'm real smart, with it comes to doing idiot things. This time is no exception to the rule. I thought I needed to loose some weight so, I found some old diet pills, that I'd had around sometime. Now, when I say some time.......I'm talking 2 or 3 years......maybe more. Stupid me, took one and felt that something wasn't going on right on the insides of me. It was just mild and nothing major, so I took a PM pill before I went to bed that evening to maybe get some needed work going on this fat. Well, 2 days later and my system is still torn up. I've been up most of the night sitting on the porcelain god, begging for forgiveness. I'm ready for this to be over and I'm not even looking at those pills again. They must have been real strong.

Veteran Day Cermonies....
Three faces stood out among the millions marking Armistice Day this year. Henry Allingham, Harry Patch and Bill Stone are among the four surviving British veterans of World War I. Henry Allingham, 112, Harry Patch, 110, and Bill Stone, 108, are among the last of the five million men and women who served in Britain's forces during the conflict. The knowledge that this was almost certainly the last significant anniversary the men will attend made the event particularly poignant.
In the United States, an annual Veterans Day ceremony will be held at Arlington cemetery near Washington at 1100 (1600 GMT), to honour those who have died in service to the US.

Anniversary Party
I recently posted a story about a couple that would be married 35 years in Nov. 2008. Last Saturday they had their party at our local club and it was very nice. A certain amount of people were invited and were given an invitation with a white ribbon inside, that had engraving on it. It had his and her names and on the other side it had 35 years.......... She had gone a bought a pink dress, which once he saw it...........he didn't like............so he took her back to the store and helped her pick out one he liked.

Dirty Laundry
The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the young
woman sees her neighbor hanging the wash outside.
'That laundry is not very clean', she said.
'She doesn't know how to wash correctly.
Perhaps she needs better laundry soap'
Her husband looked on, but remained silent.
Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, the
young woman would make the same comments.
About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a
nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband:
'Look, she has learned how to wash correctly.
I wonder who taught her this?'
The husband said, 'I got up early this morning and
cleaned our windows.'
And so it is with life. What we see when watching others
depends on the purity of the window through which we look.

There's A Reason.....
In certain cases, lifestyle changes can aid in preventing indigestion. Eating foods low in fat, eating slowly, taking care not to overeat, and cooking legumes and raw vegetables are just a few of the ways you can make strides towards a gasless day.
Indigestion, can be caused by a variety of reasons, but for many, it stems from overeating, eating too quickly, stress eating, or eating certain foods. Whatever you call it, upset stomach, stomach ache, indigestion, belly ache, agita, digestive problems, can be inconvenient and sometimes downright painful. Indigestion is caused by irritable bowel syndrome, GERD, ulcers, or stomach infections
Beans have a gaseous reputation , beans are high in protein and fiber and can be an asset to your diet. They can produce less-than-desirable effects. The enzyme that is required to sufficiently break down beans is found only in human stomach bacteria, which means, if beans aren't a regular part of your diet, you may experience bloating, gas, and discomfort.
Broccoli can help minimize the risk of colon cancer. What's more, can help prevent cataracts. For all its positive associations, broccoli also has some adverse effects when it comes to comfortable digestion. Because it is high in fiber and various nutrients, broccoli can cause gas buildup when in the stomach, leading to unpleasant bloating.
Cheese is slow when it comes to the digestive process; it can take between four and five hours to digest. Although it is widely believed that milk and yogurt serves to aid indigestion, the density of whole-milk hard cheese puts significant strain on your pancreas. In many countries where cheese is eaten more regularly and in place of meat or eggs, problems with cheese digestion are not as prevalent. As Americans, we tend to eat cheese at the beginning or end of a large meal, resulting in an overloaded stomach that needs to rid itself of the protein that has been forced in first.
Bread cause your body to work harder and is considered one of the hardest foods to digest primarily because it offers no help in the form of enzymes. Enzymes are secreted by the pancreas and serve to break down fats, carbohydrates, and proteins so that the body can digest and use them. Because bread lacks any natural occurring enzymes, it requires the pancreas to work in overdrive, and in rare cases, it can result in illness.
Pork is one of the most difficult to digest. Nutritionists and vegetarians have debated whether humans were biologically designed to eat meat. Regardless, humans have one of the most meat-heavy diets in the animal kingdom. Pork takes approximately four and a half to five hours to digest. What's important to note about foods that take a significantly longer time to digest than others is that any easily digestible foods are held in the stomach until the slowest digesting foods are released. During this lay time, fruit, vegetables, and other fast-digesting foods begin to ferment—producing gas, acid, and indigestion.
I have a problem with beef also, and the next morning, I can still feel it in my stomach like a leftover you are saving, for later.

One More Day......
And now the end is near........and so we face the final curtain.......
The final days are a mix of strategy and superstition for those most intimately involved in the campaign. They fret over the precision of turnout models and early voting numbers and polling but also take comfort in the unscientific rituals that have provided some sense of control in a wildly unpredictable political season.
Obama likes to say he’s superstitious, but he let himself speak Sunday night what many in his campaign ranks try not to think—let alone say out loud—for fear of jinxing it: He might be headed for victory.
John McCain, who has long been known for his superstitions, stayed in the same hotel room on the night of the New Hampshire primary as he did in 2000, when he beat that year's Republican favorite, George W. Bush.
America...........are you as afraid and I am?
