Her Birthday

October 1st will be my grandmother's birthday..........sadly I will remember her and try to see her in my mind the way she was here on this earth. What's The Point

It's the third time for this girl, and they say "third times the charm". So, it's to be a December wedding, in a church for a change.......who know's maybe it will work? Weather.......

It never fails..........every year.....it turns cooler during the State Fair, at Halloween, and on Easter Sunday(weekend).........Many times this comes with rain....and messes up the fun for everyone. I guess it's just bad Karma.....but it happens.......and there's nothing we can do about it.
This morning it was down in the 50's and considering the heat we've had recently........it was nice and crispy. Had the winds open all night with the ceiling fans on and was very comfortable under the sheets.......sure saved on the electric bill. I'm for that......with the way things are going up all the time........it's nice for something to go down......

Yesterday, Our 2nd Anniversary.......

Yesterday, was the 2nd anniversary of me and my boyfriend being together. We exchanged gifts and went out to eat, but mostly we just hung out at home. Patrick Swayze, opened the Telethon, with "a charge to all" to give to the cause, against the dreaded disease. Suffering himself, he looked gaunt and you could tell he had lost a tremendous amount of weight recently.






James Taylor, and Cheryl Crowe performed "Against the Wind", Melissa Etheridge also performed, she is a cancer survivor.













Katie Curic, told of the devastating effects her life had during the cancer that ripped through her family.




Many Celebrities attended and there were many manning the phone lines, taking donations as they came in.

Mom & Dad are Proud

She told of her accomplishments as Mayor and Governor, in Alaska. As she said ......Yes, these areas are much smaller than the rest of the USA, but it makes no difference, in the actual quality of her work.

Some say a "Star Was Born", I say she made many good points, and gave a good speech. She will need to have a good form of leadership, to carry the role of Vice President of the USA. So, far she shows me that she's ready to tackle whatever's thrown at her. We will see how well she handles her debate with Joe Biden and the questions the Press will attack her with.

Storms and More Storms

Well, it was Fay, then Gustav, Hanna, and now Ike and Josephine is lurking in the background. This is Ike churning his way through the Carribbean, as a Cat. 4 storm.

Then there is a Hurricane in the Pacific Ocean, by the name of Lowell. Gosh, many of these hurricanes are following a path that's already been hit in the last 2 weeks.

Haiti, has been devastated and Ike is about to give it another wallop. These people have nothing as it is, and now they are faced with more trauma. I realize it's home to them, and is all they've ever known. I still believe I would find a way to get somewhere, to dry land, if I could, when the weather got better and business was booming again. Everyone has some type of weather related situations, happen during the year, and I suppose we could thank God, they haven't been this terrible.

Hurricane Hanna Headed East.....

It looks like Hanna, is headed up the Eastern coastline. It may come ashore in the areas of South Carolina, North Carolina state lines, but can also wait until it gets to the West Virginia state line to make landfall. At the present it's only a tropical storm but can gain strength before it gets to land.
Tropical Storm Hanna has caused flooding and mudslides across Haiti killing at least 25 people, including 12 in the low-lying port of Gonaives.

Santo Domingo, has been hit by these storms, as well and the US.

Residents in Charleston, SC are loading up sandbags in preparation for Tropical Storm Hanna. By 2pm today, Hanna should be hitting right in the outer edge of the Bahamas, traveling at 12mph, with winds at 60mph.

Tired of Technorati?

Technorati, is supposed to ping your blogs every time, you write a new entry or work on your post, is that correct? I've even gone to the Technorati website and manually pinged my blogs, each time when I entered new information. It just hasn't worked and I'm ready for them to get something done, because I sent several emails, asking what is happening and they always, say nothing's wrong.
On three of my blogs it been 11 days since they were pinged. Another it's been 10 days, and the other blogs, list 5 days, 4 days, and 3 days. Now what kind of search engine is this that you can't get updated, when you are working daily? I hope they get the bugs out of this thing soon. I really want my blogs to get as much traffic and exposure as possible. Are you experiencing the same problems with Technorati?

Gustav Hits the Coast
